With fourteen years of experience in agencies, design studios and in-house shops, Karen now owns and operates 224 Design. A small design studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, 224 Design specializes in brand development for both regional and national clients, including the San Antonio Spurs, Rowe Furniture, San Antonio Visitors and Conventions Bureau, and Eye Care Centers of America. 

A working Creative Director, Karen has judged Addy Award shows from Tampa to DC over the past five years. Karen provides both copywriting and design, but her niche and education both favor design. But it’s not all work. In addition, she likes long walks on the beach… uh… hiking, biking and eating with her Italian boyfriend, playing piano, and writing a children’s novel.
